The Prevention Lab · Converging Risks Intelligence BETA

Conflict · Climate · Fragility Intelligence

A cross-referenced risk picture — connecting climate hazards, conflict, displacement, food, water, governance and humanitarian response, rather than tracking each silo separately.
“Where are multiple risks converging — and where is preventive investment failing to keep pace?”

Convergence Watchlist

Geographies ranked by convergence score — how many of 10 risk dimensions are simultaneously elevated. Click a card to expand.

Convergence scores count the dimensions rated high or extreme in a rolling ~90-day window — an analytical synthesis prompt, not an official index. Severity ratings are the desk's own reading of publicly reported conditions; verify against the linked primary sources before citing.

Convergence Risk Matrix

Click any dimension header to sort the matrix by that column. Each geography joins across all ten desks through a shared entity model — country · sub-region · hazard type · actor · date — which is what lets a single event be scored across dimensions.

Prevention Gap Index

Crisis-risk exposure against preventive / anticipatory finance committed — ranked by the widest gap
Risk exposure (convergence) Preventive finance committed (indicative) Gap = exposure − finance

Exposure is the convergence score; preventive-finance is an indicative 0–10 reading of anticipatory-action, resilience and preparedness funding relative to need (response-plan funding levels shown where reported). The gap is the metric the Prevention Lab acts on: where risk is rising but preventive investment is not.

Convergence Signatures

Named multi-risk patterns currently firing — each is a defined trigger for a synthesis brief
Synthesis

Situation Briefs

Systems-level narratives, not event reports — the analyst output the desk exists to produce

Briefs are structured analytical syntheses drawn across multiple desks. They are reporting prompts for the weekly synthesis cycle, not verified findings — every figure should be confirmed against the primary source before publication.

Wire

The Live Wire

Clustered by desk — Armed Conflict → Climate Extremes → Food → Water → Displacement → Political → Peace → Humanitarian → Early Warning → Prevention Finance

The wire aggregates client-side through a chain of public feed relays; if one is throttled the next takes over. Hit ↻ Refresh wire to fetch. Every query is anchored on conflict–climate–fragility terms.

Angle desk

Convergence Threads

Shared threads across today's wire — where one place or hazard shows up on multiple desks at once

Threads are drawn automatically from headline text — a prompt for synthesis, not a finding. A place appearing on three desks in one window is the raw material of a convergence signal.
